Norway has emerged as the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest, held in the Russian city of Moscow.

The cue for the BBC news story about Norway winning Eurovision.

I think this is the first time since I started reading BBC News website on a daily basis back in 2003 that I see Moscow being called not just ‘Moscow’—although the context perfectly justifies mentioning the country.

(Update: They have now changed it to the arguably less odd-looking ‘Russian capital, Moscow’.)
